Ms. Hou’s Mandarin Classroom

Have you ever wanted to learn Mandarin but aren’t sure where to start? Or have you ever wanted to learn Mandarin but don’t have the time or money for live teaching lessons? If so, Ms. Hou’s Mandarin Classroom is the right place for you!

We are a small group of four girls who are interested in language teaching, and we believe in creating a comfortable, energizing, and interactive space for learning. As experienced in language learning and teaching ourselves, we wish to offer a place where people can get to know more about the Mandarin language and its culture as well as to share their thoughts and experience.

If you are interested in joining us for a journey of exploring the Mandarin language, visit our blog and get started with our FREE online lessons! Our lessons start with the basics (Pinyin, pronunciation, greetings, and simple conversations) and move on to reading and writing Chinese Characters, advanced conversations, discussions of grammar, workshops about Chinese culture, and much more. There are also free audio and video tutorials, including speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and culture to go along with our lessons. Step by step, let’s learn Mandarin quickly and easily!

Ms. Hou

Ms. Hou says, “I always find it interesting to learn different languages. As a Mandarin language teacher, my goal is to enable the learners to use the language to communicate to each other and see a bigger world with a more tolerant mind.”

Tracy

Learning different languages is always an amazing and enriching experience. When learning a language, you do not only learn about the language itself but also its culture and people. You need to spend enough time and effort in the first place, but the outcome can be more rewarding than you might think. You will be able to use the new language to communicate, express, and convey your feelings, thoughts and ideas. You will be able to connect in the new language with people of that language. It opens the door to a new culture and to new experiences. It creates a great opportunity to see the world in a new way. Of course, determination is always the key.

Sisi

To witness all the memorable moments as long as I can see
To listen all the remarkable rhythms as long as I can hear
To smell all the sweet scents as long as I can breathe
To write all the stories in my mind, as long as I’m alive. =)

Hui

As a Chinese, I always thought I knew enough about Chinese language and Chinese culture. However, since I have been preparing for this blog with Ms. Hou, Tracy and Sisi, I felt my knowledge of our language and our culture was lacking. Therefore, Ms. Hou’s Mandarin Classroom is also an opportunities for myself to explore more about our language and culture. In Chinese, we always say “Well begun is half done”, so, with our help, I hope your Chinese learning experience is easy and successful.
