Mother’s Day 母亲节 (mǔ​qīn​jié​)

Mother’s Day is celebrated in many parts of the world on various days. Like the US, China and Taiwan celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday in May. It is the day to show love and appreciation for mothers, and carnations are often worn on the day as its scientific name translates to “flower of love” or “flower of the gods”. A red carnation may be worn if one’s mother is alive, and a white one if she has died.

Besides carnations, songs are also sung to celebrate the occasion. Here is this song from the 80’s which is one of the must-sing songs:
