Night Markets in Taiwan

One of the most popular attractions in Taiwan is the night markets. These street markets are one of the most distinctive features of life in Taiwan, and they have been one of the island’s best traditions. A night market may occupy sidewalks, streets, or alleys, and it is consisted of many street vendors and stalls that sell all kinds of foods, specialty drinks, clothes, shoes, accessories, appliances, entertainment products, etc. throughout the night. World Expo 2010 Shanghai China is ON!

It’s been 22 days since the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai (上海世博会 Shàng​hǎi​ shì​bó​huì​). People are flooding into the city as it is “A Grand Gathering of the World Cultures”. Check out more info on the official website.

Mother’s Day 母亲节 (mǔ​qīn​jié​)

Mother’s Day is celebrated in many parts of the world on various days. Like the US, China and Taiwan celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday in May. It is the day to show love and appreciation for mothers, and carnations are often worn on the day as its scientific name translates to “flower of love” or “flower of the gods”. Pop Star in Asia

It’s always exciting to see an Asian pop star on an American channel. There are many talented and amazing artists in Asia, and seeing them receive attention from the western world somehow makes me feel proud, haha! I found this video a while ago – the show Talk Asia on It’s an interview with the popstar and actor Leehom Wang, who made his big break in Taiwan back in 1995.
